She's 5, can you believe it? Ab woke up at 6 this morning wanting to know if she was 5 yet, and did she look different, because she didn't feel different. But even though she didn't feel different she let everyone know that she was 1 year older and how cool that was.
We had a pretty great day. Abby spent the morning making crafts while I cleaned and then waited at the window for all of her friends to show up. And then the fun began.
We had a princess party, of course, and had sword fights (for the princes in attendance), we searched for dragon eggs (easter egg hunt), made bracelets, opened presents and had cake. We had a great time. Abby has been lucky to have so many great friends.
She also had a cupcake party at school yesterday and it was so cute to see her playing with everyone and have them singing to her. She thought that as soon as she turned 5 she was moving to TX and going to kindergarten, so I had some explaining to do when she was saying goodbye to everyone.
It's so funny getting to the point where milestones aren't as easy to pinpoint. Abby is still the smallest in her class, but is the spunkiest. She in finally feeling comfortable on a bike, and loves doing it. She has a very careful personality so I'm thinking that it will be a long time before we get the training wheels off, but she's having a lot of fun in the meantime. And she still loves coloring, painting, cutting, gluing... you name it. Art is her favorite class at school. She is still learning how to read. She's learned the first 108 sight reading words and is going on to the next set. It's amazing how fast she learns. It's fun to watch.
We just love having her in our family. We're so grateful for her sweet, loving, spunky personality.

Wow her preschool looks really awesome. Can you believe that our little girls are 5? Happy Birthday Abby.
