We're getting more sleep!

Finally we are getting a little more sleep and are able to have more fun because of it. We gave Abby an alarm in her room and told her that she can't leave until the alarm goes off at 7am. She has been getting up at 5:30-6:30, which is way to early for us seeing as we've been getting up with Drew as well. So.... there were a few days where she sat at her door (which has a child lock on it), and just knocked, knocked, knocked saying "Mooooomy, Mooooooooooooomy, I'm huuuuuungry." Not crying, just talking. So, we let her do it for a few days and now she's stopped. She actually lays in bed until 7am. It's great! And, Drew is really sleeping through the night. He only wakes up when he pushes himself into the top of the crib and smacks his head. Anyways, the ending result, Adam and I are hopefully, slowly, getting over our sleep deprivation.

So, today we were able to get up at 7, get ready and head into DC. It was a really fun day, despite the fact it was around 100 degrees. We put Abby's running shoes on and packed Drew in to the baby bjorn and walked around The Mall. We went to the Ripley museum and saw the Jim Henson exhibit. It was fun to see the process. It took him a lot of time to get to the success he had. He definitely worked on a lot more things than just the muppets. Abby played with a puppet show display. We also got some ice cream, lunch, went home for a 3 hour nap and then went to the pool. It was a great day, and by 9 Abby was begging to be in bed, which says a lot for our little tornado that seems to have an endless supply of energy. Oh, and Drew did fantastic. We didn't hear him cry the entire day. We are lucky parents.
